Holosun is a company that mostly manufactures red dot sights. They keep their products at an affordable price while retaining the quality at a very acceptable level. Their devices come at approx. half the price of the well-known Swedish red dot sights.
Quality-wise, they are not that far behind, which makes Holosun's devices competitive on the red dot sight market.
The famous Swedish company has long been the leading manufacturer in the field of red dot sights. Their devices are renowned for great build quality and outstanding optical performance. Many red dot sight manufacturing companies have tried copying their products but only a handful can match their level of quality.
On the market, there are a plethora of red dot sights that come at a very low price but are also of very low quality.
Holosun is one of the few companies that has managed to come close in terms of quality. With the Paralow series, they managed to come really close to the form factor of Micro red dot sights.

There is a common misconception that all Chinese products are of extremely low quality. Holosun is one of the companies that break this stereotype. Their products can match or come close to the quality of Japanese and even European optical devices.
Holosun is a fairly young company – it was established in 2013. Today, they are one of the most renowned manufacturers of red dot sights, which is, without doubt, an outcome of their ambitious business plan.
The company never stagnates but is constantly in the procedure of updating its products, following contemporary trends.
They are one of the first red dot sight manufacturers that offer housing made of titanium. Some of their dots are also available with a green LED, which is a great solution for shooters that have problems seeing the red colour.
Their devices are also famous because of their long battery life – most of them will work for 50.000 hours on a single battery.
They boast an incredibly wide array of different models within each of the series.
These differences are mostly associated with the presence or absence of certain features on the device (and the location of the battery compartment) and are marked with numbers and letters.
For more information regarding the letters (symbols) that Holosun uses for their models, please read our article on the Optics.info blog.
Holosun grants their buyers an option of choosing between two reticle types:
dot and
circle dot.
Furthermore, many of their sights are compatible with night vision devices.

We have tested some of the Holosun red dot sights for waterproofness by putting them into a glass box filled with water for several days (this was also displayed at our stand at several optics fairs).
When we took them out of the water, they remained fully functional and showed no signs of malfunction.
