Weaver and Picatinny rings are among the most popular mounting solutions currently available on the market. The most important difference between Weaver and Picatinny rings is the width of the recoil stoppers. With Weaver standard, the recoil stopper is 3.8 mm wide, while the one in Picatinny standard is around 5 mm wide. That is why the Weaver rings and mounts fit on both Weaver rails and Picatinny rails, while Picatinny rings and mounts fit only on Picatinny rails. While it is true that Picatinny rails are more advanced in comparison to Weaver ones, both mounting solutions are very reliable.
Contessa Weaver/Picatinny rings come in fixed or QR fashion. Precisely machined rings, made in Italy, are available in multiple dimensions to best fit your needs: 1”, 30 mm, 34 mm, 35 mm, 36 mm and 40 mm. Both 1” and 30 mm fixed rings can be ordered in four different BH heights: 8 mm, 12 mm, 19 mm and 26 mm, while other diametres are available in one or two BH heights. The QR Contessa Picatinny rings feature a lever with a safety lock. For competition and tactical shooting, Contessa offers tactical rings, which come in two dimensions with 6 locking screws on top and a bubble level.
