The Leica Trinovid BCA 8x20mm is a premium pocket size binocular with exceptional optical and mechanical properties. In production since the early eighties, these binoculars are a true gem, defined by their compact size, low weight, excellent optics and an extremely attractive price tag. They are ideal travel companions and can be used for general nature observation.
Living up to the Leica name, the Leica Trinovid BCA 8x20mm is constructed with extreme precision and using high grade components. Featuring roof prisms with P40 phase correction coating and fully multicoated lenses, the image is clear and sharp with excellent stray light and internal reflections suppression. A generous field of view makes scanning the landscape easier. The 8x magnification is a perfect all-rounder, providing ample detail without the need for a stable rest. The 20mm objective lenses drastically reduce the size of the binoculars and despite their small size still gather enough light, to make these binoculars useful for stargazing.
Where the Leica Trinovid BCA 8x20mm truly excels is in its small size and low weight. The dual hinge design allows these binoculars to shrink to a size, at which they can be almost completely covered by a standard business card. This means they fit into virtually any pocket and can be, due to the measly 235 grams of weight, carried effortlessly for hours. The dual hinge also causes the pupillary distance to have a very broad range, allowing these binoculars to be used by virtually anyone. A rubberised aluminium frame provides toughness and comfort as well as making the binoculars splash proof. Nitrogen purging also helps prevent fogging and Leica’s special HDC Highly Durable Coating helps prevent scratches. Focusing is done via a central knob. The binoculars feature a close focus, making them ideal for close up observation of objects or animals. Eye cups can be set to two positions and provide ample eye relief, making these binoculars very comfortable to use, even for users, who wear glasses
The Leica Trinovid BCA 8x20mm features Leica’s limited lifetime warranty and also a three-year Passport Protection Plan.
