Nikon 18x70 IF WP WF Product description

Nikon 18x70 IF WP WF outstands with their 18x magnification and therefore is suitable for observing distant objects. The image is very sharp, colourful and high contrast thankful to multiple lens coatings. It is also appropriate for those wearing glasses and has an option to mount it on the tripod. The optic quality as well as manufacturing quality is at highest level only expected from a Japanese manufacturer. Nikon Standard series represent the dying breed of extremely high quality binoculars, to which today style or trend is not in a favour. All the binoculars of this series can be commended with outstanding build quality, the best glass for lenses and prisms and superb modern lens coatings, which assures good light transmission rate and very sharp, contrast image. This series uses Porro prism system, which is in compare to now-day technology and rival binoculars some sort old-fashion, but still has quite a few optical advantages. In fact it offers the same and even more as other rival binoculars designed with Roof prism system for lower price and a little different construction. The housing is sealed and filled with nitrogen to enable the use at sea and very low temperatures. The models with 70mm lens are especially suitable for watching the stars.

Does this 18x70 mm binoculars have a tripod socket or not? The specifications list says it is not tripod adaptable (for mounting on a tripod) but the details description next to the specs page says there is an option to mount it on a tripod.

by Philip

Dear Philip,

thank you for contacting us.

The tripod adapter clamps the central hinge between shaped Delrin blocks that tighten down with a big knurled knob.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Kind regards.
