A small but powerful 12x compact roof prism binocular, these are perfect for taking in distant views when hiking in the mountains or at the coast.
Whilst powerful, the 12x25 configuration does result in relatively small 2.1mm exit pupil and narrow field of view, which means that these should probably be reserved for daytime use and will excel in wide open spaces where the distance to your subject is greater and where more image detail is required.
They are both lightweight and feature a double hinge design that makes it possible for them to fold up into an incredibly small size and will easily fit into your jacket pocket for the ultimate in carrying convenience.
The H2O series from Bushnell is a diverse collection of binoculars that includes a wide choice of both Roof and Porro prism models. As the name suggests, this is designed with water in mind and by that I mean they are tailored to either accompany you on the water in a boat, yacht or ship or be the instrument you can trust when out in the field and the weather turns nasty.
In terms of their standing, this largely a value-priced range and will appeal to those shopping on a relatively tight budget, but require a good level of performance.
As you would expect on a series designed to be used around water, all Bushnell H2O binoculars are naturally fully O-ring sealed and thus waterproof. These seals are also important in dry conditions, preventing dust from getting into the system. What is more, the air inside has been replaced with nitrogen to protect the internal glass surfaces from fogging.
A defining feature on all H2O binoculars is the distinctive armour on the exterior of the housing. Not only for the protection of the optics that it covers, this highly textured soft rubber presents you with a very high grip surface to securely hold onto even wet, with or without gloves on.
All models within the H2O series come with a centrally positioned, easy to reach, focus wheel, diopter adjustment, and twist-up eyecups to ensure they can be perfectly calibrated to your particular needs.
The H2O binoculars are Multi-Coated which means that most, but not all the glass surfaces have a special anti-reflection material applied to them. This is usually the outer objective and eyepiece lenses that are coated and helps them transmit more light than untreated glass for a brighter and better quality view. However, it is important to note that whilst they cost more, higher-end binoculars like those in the Bushnell Marine series are Fully Multi-Coated meaning that every surface throughout the whole pathway is treated for an even brighter and higher quality image.
With either Roof or Porro prism models to choose from, all are made from good quality BaK-4 optical glass.
Depending on the exact model, but most Bushnell H2O binoculars come supplied with a soft carry case, padded neck strap, cleaning cloth and protective objective lens and eyepiece covers.
All H2O binoculars are covered by the Bushnell standard 30-year warranty.
