Leica’s famous Trinovid entry-level series ranges back to 1958 when it was first launched. Trinovid HD is the latest series that was introduced in 2015 with the first two models with a 42 mm objective lens. Later, in 2017, they added another two models with a 32 mm objective lens to their Trinovid HD range. The name ‘Trinovid’ combines three novel innovations: a compact ergonomic design, a precise inner focus mechanism and an excellent optical performance.
All the models in the Trinovid HD series have a classic and timeless Leica design with a signature Leica logo. They feel reliable and robust due to their rubber armouring and magnesium housing. That contributes to their small size and weight. The focusing mechanism runs smoothly and the ergonomic construction allows the user to observe the surroundings comfortably. Eyecups are multi-positioned and suitable for every user.
Binoculars from this series were meant for a fast and universal use. Their optical performance is outstanding, the clear and sharp view full of excellent contrast and true-to-life colors make these binoculars a perfect companion for wildlife and nature enthusiasts. The prisms used are of the roof type.
There are four different models in this series to satisfy every user: 8x32, 10x32, 8x42 and 10x42. The models with a 42 mm objective lens come with a new and innovative carrying strap called the adventure strap.
All Trinovid HD models are made in Portugal.
Leica expended their Trinovid HD range with 32 mm objective lens models to satisfy users who appreciate a small and compact design while also retaining an outstanding optical performance. These binoculars are a perfect travel companion as they can be stored in any bag. Even though they are not intended to be used in low light situations, they perform surprisingly well due to the 90 % of light transmission rate and quality coatings. 8x magnification provides shake-free and sharp images and a 32 mm objective lens contributes to their compactness. They are fully waterproof and filled with nitrogen to prevent internal fogging. The close focus distance is short with this model (1 meter), so they are also great for observing small objects up-close (butterflies, insects, etc.) They boast a field of view of 124 m at 1000 m.
The package includes a neoprene storing bag, a carrying strap, a lens cloth, an eyepiece cap, 2 objective lens caps, an instruction manual and Leica’s Warranty card.
The product comes with 10 years of warranty. You can read more about the warranty policy here.
