The powerful 12x magnification is ideal for long-distance observation and with the large 50mm objective lenses generating a generous exit pupil size of just over 4.1mm you are sure to have a bright image during the day as well as a decent performance in low light conditions. Larger binoculars with bigger lenses like the Celestron Cometron 12x70 obviously improve this performance further but adds weight and size, so this configuration makes for a good compromise should you want a binocular to take out in the field and use from the hands as well as one that can be set up from a fixed location.
With a high power like 12x and especially for uses like astronomy or when setting up your binocular on a balcony or from a hide, it is important to note that this Landscout binocular is tripod adaptable. This allows you to achieve rock-steady views making it easier to observe the finest details, makes it easy to share a view with others as well as taking the weight off your hands and arms for long periods of observation.
As well as astronomy, ideal uses include plane spotting, wildlife observation, hunting, security, border patrols as well as search and rescue operations over longer distances like you often find in along the coast, in the mountains or on the plains.

Together with tight seals, these binoculars won’t let any moisture, dust or other solid particles enter the construction and damage the clear view. They are purged with nitrogen gas that helps eliminate internal condensation that occurs in early mornings or late evenings due to quick temperature fluctuations. The non-slip grip due to rugged rubber also helps with a non-slip grip. These Porro binoculars also have a very small dimensions, making them very compact and easy to handle for longer periods of time. They are also equipped with tripod adaptable screw, so you can mount them to a tripod and get steady images, especially convenient for higher magnifications.
Celestron LandScout is a Porro prism binocular which means the eyecup lenses and objective lenses are not in the same line. This setting makes the construction a little more robust and wide, but the prisms inside offer reflection with minimal loss of light. Using high-quality BaK-4 prisms the loss of brightness is even lower. They glass is fully multi-coated which also helps with bigger light transmission rate and enhances contrast and colors for lifelike images. These Porro binoculars are equipped with central focusing mechanism instead of individual set on eyecups. This allows you to make focusing adjustments for both eyes at the same time, with right-diopter helping you to eliminate the differences in both eyesight if you have them. They are also equipped with multi-positioned eyecups with very generous eye-relief able to satisfy eyeglass wearers. Let’s not forget about the LandScout’s amazing wide field of view, that helps you in dynamic situations, such as following fast moving subjects like big birds.
LandScout binoculars come with a carrying case to store them. There is also included neck strap for easier carrying them around the neck and objective lens and eyecup lens covers.
