The 8x42 Granite ED combines features like fully multi-coated optics, ED lenses and very highly reflective mirror coatings on BaK-4 prisms with a good sized 5.25mm exit-pupil to ensure that you get bright, high-quality views even when light conditions are far from optimal.
If you combine these attributes along with their extremely wide field of view, then you have an excellent general use, wildlife and an especially good bird watching binocular that is optimised to perform in locations like thick wooded areas when at medium to close ranges. This is because the wide view makes it easier to quickly locate things like small birds in the view and then be able to follow it with ease as it moves about the canopy above.
The multi-position twist-up eyecups along with an ample amount of eye relief make this binocular a good choice for eyeglass wearers.
At approximately 2 meters, the minimum close focus distance also makes this model a good choice for those who enjoy detailed views of butterflies, dragonflies, other insects, flowers or even birds on a nearby feeder.

With the help of nitrogen gas that is purged inside the construction, the clear view will never be compromised when facing sudden temperature changes, that makes the occurrence of condensation on the inner sides of the lenses.
The Granite ED glass crafted in Japan, offers Extra-low dispersion ability for sharp images free of major distortion such as chromatic aberration and reflections. With the help of fully multi-coatings, these feature enhance light transmission rate, making images incredibly bright and also rich in contrast with accurate color reproduction.
