Designed specifically with marine use in mind these Delta binoculars incorporate a number of features that make them ideal for boating, sailing, canoeing or indeed just about any activity located on or near the water.
Firstly, not only are they fully waterproof, but these binoculars have a high grip rubber exterior and will also float should you accidentally drop them overboard.
For navigation, the Sailor has an onboard compass as well as a reticle rangefinder that enables you to calculate distance based on the known size of a comparable object.
Next, the magnification is purposely kept to a fairly moderate 7x. This not only helps deliver a wider field of view, which in turn allows you to more easily scan wide open areas, which can be very important for search and rescue operations, but it also makes it much easier to keep the image steadier, which when on rough or even choppy water is essential in ensuring that you can also make out every detail.
The 50mm objective lenses are large enough so as to be able to capture a good amount of light for bright views even in low light, but at the same time are not too big to make handling your instrument difficult.
They also have an individual eyepiece focusing system, sometimes called an autofocus, it means that once you have set up the binocular to match your particular vision, no further adjustment of the focus is necessary as everything from the minimum focus distance right to infinity will remain in focus. This is not only convenient but in conjunction with the wide view makes target acquisition that much quicker and easier.
