Made in China, these low-cost Tasco Essentials 8x42 binoculars feature a multi-coated optical system, compact Schmidt-Pechan roof prisms, a large centrally located focus wheel, and tough rubber armor exterior.
The 42mm lenses are able to capture a good level of light, which in combination with the 8x magnification delivers a reasonably generous 5.3mm exit pupil. This indicates that this binocular will not only deliver bright views out in the open during the day but it will also be able to perform reasonably well in low lit woods and forests as well as the end of the day when the sun begins to drop below the horizon.
At 123m wide at 1000m, these 8x42 Tasco binoculars have an ample field of view which is good for uses like birding where a wide view makes it easier to quickly locate and follow fast moving subjects, especially at closer distances.
16mm of eye relief makes these binoculars suitable for eyeglass wearers.
These main features and specifications, as well as their low cost all, come together to deliver a budget binocular that is good for most birding, general use, and wildlife observation needs.
