Leica Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i Product description

  • Optically, the Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i is an excellent choice for its price point.

  • Its BDC turrets are of top-notch quality. The scope offers a generous field of view at 17 meters at 100 meters

  • Featuring the perfect-sized illuminated red dot in the reticle, this product offers a nine-step illumination range.

  • A relatively large size of 36 centimeters should be considered when purchasing it. Otherwise, Fortis 2.5-15x56i is an ideal riflescope for long-range hunting and low-light conditions at an affordable price point.

Leica Fortis 6 series

Leica's Fortis 6 series was created as a more affordable alternative to Swarovski's Z6i, which has dominated the European market for years. The Fortis 6 is similar to the Z6i but cheaper and competes with Zeiss' V6 and Leica's Magnus.

The Fortis 6 series offers the following models of riflescopes: Leica Fortis 6 1-6x24i, Leica Fortis 6 2-12x50i, Leica Fortis 6 1.8-12x42i and Leica Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i.

Physical properties of Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i

Fortis 6 models are modern riflescopes with turrets similar to the Magnus models but at a lower price point. The Leica Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i is heavier and longer than the Swarovski Z6i, while the objective outer diameter is standard for all night vision optics.

Leica has kept the costs of producing Fortis 6 models low by only offering one reticle, the L4A reticle. It is illuminated and designed to be thin at higher magnifications in the second focal plane.

The Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i scope has an illumination control system with nine different intensity levels, ranging from bright to low light. Its illuminated dot is small and thin. The downside is that there are only a limited number of intensity levels available.

The Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i riflescope is available with various types of turrets, including BDC turrets which feature a locking mechanism and 95 clicks, and capped turrets with a metallic feel. The elevation range is 20 MRAD. Additionally, the BDC turret has a zero stop and single turn function. The turrets are resettable and have different ballistic rings engraved for various calibers.

The Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i is a unique model in the Fortis 6 series, equipped with an adjustable parallax that ranges from 50 meters to infinity. It also offers a firm and responsive click at 100 meters and plenty of travel.

Mounting on a rifle

The Fortis 6 2.5-15x56i riflescope features a 30mm tube with an optional Zeiss ZM/VM rail standard.

Optical performance

The Leica Fortis 6 is a low-light rifle scope with 2.5x zoom at the lower end and 15x zoom at the upper end, making it one of the best in its class. It has a wider field of view than similar brands and also has great light transmission. Furthermore, it is surprisingly affordable compared to its competitors.

by Pavel

Dear Sir,

This product is in production and it is available to order.

by Optics Trade team

can you add the asv turret later on?

by Raigo

Dear Sir,

thank you for contacting us.

That is possible, however, the scope would physically need to be shipped to the manufacturer's factory to install it. We would advise ordering the BDC turret by default the first time when purchasing the product.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
