These Hawke Endurance ED binoculars with their impressive specifications and first-rate optical glass and coatings make them a very versatile instrument that can be used in a wide variety of situations and conditions.
The classic 8x42 configuration is so popular because it has many advantages and it strikes a good balance between the size and weight of the instrument and its light gathering and low light capabilities, which can be demonstrated by the generous 5.3mm exit pupil that they produce.
Whilst not ultra powerful, the 8x magnification is perfectly adequate for all but very long range uses and it has the advantage in that it makes it far easier to keep the image still and shake free.
This moderate power also plays an important part in producing a wide field of view, which is especially advantageous to wildlife and bird watching, making it much less difficult to locate and then follow your subject than high powered binoculars.
Eyeglass wearers will especially appreciate the long eye-relief, which in combination with the quality twist-up eyecups means you can accurately adjust the distance of your eyes to the ocular lenses to achieve the full image with or without your glasses on.
A good minimum focus distance means these binoculars are also a good choice for the occasional study of things like butterflies from very close range.
Endurance ED is Hawke’s award winning series of binoculars, receiving the Best binoculars award in 2016 for 8x32 model. These mid-priced binoculars offer great ergonomics and optical performance due to ED glass and high-quality optical coatings. There are five models available: pocket, all-round and low-light binoculars for everyday use for hunters, birdwatching, hiking, traveling etc. There are two colors available: green and black armouring.
Hawke Endurance ED offer great ergonomics with a top-hinge design. This kind of bridge holding both barrels together leaves a lot of space for more comfortable and safe grip. This design also helps to lean the binoculars more against the face, so the weight distribution is much better. Endurance ED binoculars are also extremely lightweight due to their magnesium chassis, which helps to decrease the weight. This allows you to hold them without fatiguing for longer periods of time. Rubber armouring also helps to protect them against impacts and rugged surface on the sides provides non-slip grip. These Roof prism binoculars come in black or dark green color. The construction is tightly sealed to prevent any ingress of water and dust. Together with nitrogen filling for fog-free construction, they provide protection against corrosion and molding. You can easily use them in bad weather. Endurance ED binoculars are equipped with really large central focusing wheel that helps with extremely smooth and quick adjustments. The grippy surface also allows them to make fine-tune even with the gloves on. To eliminate differences in eyesight there is a right-eye diopter that you can lock.
Hawke Endurance ED are equipped with ED glass for extra-low dispersion ability that decreases chromatic aberration and together with anti-reflective multi-coatings, phase correction coatings and dielectric prism coatings, helps with better image quality. The images are brighter, and razor-sharp from edge to edge with great color rendition and contrast. Endurance ED also offers wider field of view so you are able to see more and thus track down the subjects much faster. Close focusing distance is also quite generous and allows you to observe objects up close, which is extremely convenient for butterfly hunting. These binoculars are also equipped with metal eyepieces that makes these binoculars incredibly durable and robust.
The Endurance ED comes in very hard padded case for storage and protection. There is also neoprene neck strap added, objective lens covers and rainguards for protection of the outer lenses.
