Important Features of Zeiss Terra ED Binoculars
One of the most prominent features of Terra ED models is ergonomic design. Its compact size makes them easier to use, hold in hands and store. Extremely lightweight setting and straight-through design offers very comfortable use without fatiguing making them “everywhere carry” binoculars. Double-hinge design of Pockets allows them to be folded into very small shape and stored in pockets. Extremely hand friendly Terra ED series is armored in very grippy rugged rubber. This armoring also protects binoculars against impacts and is virtually indestructible. They are very easy to carry around due to its extremely low weight. Pockets weighs only 310 grams, 32 and 42 models are slightly heavier, but don’t exceeds the weight of 695 grams. These binoculars are perfect companion even under extreme conditions, since they are tightly sealed and impervious against water and other particles. Nitrogen gas construction helps to eliminate internal condensation that occurs due to sudden temperature changes.
Optical Properties of Zeiss Terra ED Binoculars
Terra ED features special extra-low dispersion glass that eliminates internal reflections and helps with better light transmission. All glass surfaces have hydrophobic MC multi-coating applied to provide clear-viewing even in bad weather. Micro and macro contrast is outstanding, with sharp and bright images providing lifelike images that will satisfy every wildlife enthusiast. Terra ED Pocket has a very smooth and quick central focusing with the wheel installed within the bridge. Smaller knob provides more accurate adjustments since it takes a little longer to focus from near to infinity. 32 and 42 models have stunning close focusing ideal for macro observations, butterflies for instance. Field of view is also extended and helps you to track fast moving objects, very convenient for watching smaller birds. You don’t need to mount them to a tripod, but can still use universal tripod adapter when using 42 models that are little heavier. Eyecups are multi positioned and ergonomically correct for setting a proper eye relief and comfortable feeling.
