These Porro prism binoculars with their 7x50 configuration and a host of high-quality features make them not only suitable but highly capable for use in a wide range of areas which includes boating, yachting, birding, wildlife observation, hunting, and stargazing.
Firstly the 7x50 arrangement in combination with Fuji’s EBC coating with its light transmission rate of 95% helps produce a bright, superior caliber image even in the very poor light.
Field flattener lenses ensure the image is sharp from edge to edge, which is an advantage in all areas, but especially for wide angle astronomy.
The moderate 7x magnification helps ensure a wide view is maintained which at closer ranges facilitates being able to quickly locate and follow your subject, which for wildlife observers and especially bird watchers is very important.
Any movement you make is magnified by the power of the binocular and thus it is also far easier to maintain a steady, shake-free image when compared to higher powered binoculars. This is a real advantage when using your binoculars on rough or even choppy waters and is one of the main reasons why most marine binoculars use the 7x magnification.
The high grip rubber coated exterior offers a good level of protection, but also really helps in wet conditions, but is especially important in helping ensure that you don’t drop your binoculars when out on the water.
Eyeglass wearers, in particular, will be delighted to discover that these come with 23mm of eye relief which is extremely long.
Fujinon offers high-grade FMT series of binoculars ideal for boating, astronomy and military applications. There are 7 models available, with or without rubber armoring and with one model that also integrates compass and reticle for ballistic calculations. 50mm and 70mm lens diameter help to draw in plenty of light for clear observations in the night. All FMT models are incredibly bright due to Porro prism system and fully multi-coated glass surfaces using EBC multi-coatings. Together with flat field lenses and eyepieces that accept filters for astronomy observations, these binoculars leave the competition in the dust. These extremely durable binoculars made by Fujinon are also able to withstand drastic temperatures, from desert to subpolar areas.
FMT binoculars made in Japan by Fujinon manufacturer are one of the greatest on the market at the moment. They are made for different low-light applications such as astronomy and also marine, hunting and military use since they meet US military specifications. You can choose between extremely well-protected rubber or traditional leather armoring. Both versions are fully waterproof and fog-proof due to nitrogen gas filling. The construction is shock-proof and also watertight – able to withstand the water pressure, so you can easily submerge them into the water without causing any damage. The body is extremely robust and heavy if compared to the roof prism design, but still enough comfortable to carry for longer periods of time. The series also offers the FMTRC-SX model, that also integrates compass and reticle for ballistic calculations. Eyepieces are foldable which is useful if you are wearing glasses. The eye-relief is absolutely stunning and much longer (23mm) than what the competition offers.
When it comes to optical properties, the Fujinon FMT series are definitely one of the best in the world. They are perfect for nighttime observations as they are incredibly bright due to Porro prism design and fully multi-coatings of EBC - Electron Beam Coating on all glass surfaces. These anti-reflection coatings also help to reduce glare and reflections and help with better color rendering, contrast and overall resolution. The glass is field flattening that eliminates the curvature of the field and provides extremely sharp images from edge to edge. FMT binoculars have individual focusing mechanism so you can easily adjust focus if you have differences in eyesight.
Fujinon FMT series includes eyepiece and objective lens covers for protection, protective case for storage and padded neck strap for comfortable portability.
