Introduction

Leica Monovid is, simply explained, a half-version of the Leica Ultravid Pocket 8x20 binoculars. They share the same specifications. Monovid has all the features of the pocket binoculars in an even smaller form and does not disappoint with its optical performance.

About the Monovid series

A good monocular has become quite demanding to find and it was a pleasant surprise for many enthusiasts when Leica presented a new 8x20 Monovid in 2009. Ever since then, their model is still one of the best products offered on the market.

Monovid has a Roof prism with phase correction coating P40.  Its outer lens is coated with High Durable Coating (HDC™) and with water and dirt repellent AquaDura coating. The latter keeps the monocular clear and easy to use in bad weather conditions. It is also completely sealed and filled with nitrogen gas to prevent the internal fogging. The eyepiece is fully padded with a pull-out system, offering eye relief of 15 mm. Eye relief is sufficient to achieve a full field of view (110/ 1000m) and is also suitable for eyeglass wearers. The focusing system is internal via central focusing knob in the shape of a ring positioned around the device. 

Monovids are available in three different versions; elegant black, red and aluminium. They are made of excellent materials, precisely combined together. The armoring is made from genuine leather that offers good grip and ergonomics. Its elegant and small design is perfect for birdwatchers, hikers, concert-goers, sports fans and travelers to instantly enjoy the observation. With a weight of only 112 g, it can be stored in any pocket and will most definitely be a great companion.

About the model Monovid 8x20

Monovid comes with a close-up accessory lens which allows detailed close observations at distances as close as 25-30 cm. So you can enjoy the macro effect too, simply by screwing the accessory onto the front lens. Without it, offering a wide field of view, the device is ideal for every-day use in nature, open and closed areas, detailed observations, events, etc.

Leica Monovid comes in a beautiful leather case with a belt loop included in the package.
